Thee Vicars son una banda
británica de “garage” beat y R&B formada en Bury St. Edmonds (Suffolk. UK)
en 2007 por un cuarteto de chavales de 15 a 17 años: al bajo y voz, Mike Whittaker; a
la batería Jasper Kemp, y a las guitarras, Marcus Volkert y Ruben Kemp. Se estrenaron con un álbum de
“garage punk” en 2008 con Dirty Water recrods y titulado “Back on the Streets”.
En su segundo álbum “Psychotic Beat” (Dirty Water 2009) ya se decantaron por
sonidos más pop sixties.Entraron a
formar parte de la banda Chris Langeland y el baterista Will Patenden. Actualmente
eran un trío integrado por el difunto Chris Langeland más Mike Whittaker al
bajo y voz, y Alex De Renzi a la batería. Este 2012 grabaron su tercer Lp
llamado “I Wanna Be Your Vicar”, con Dirty Water, con doce excelentes canciones de R&B, beat
y “garage”.
La discográfica Dirty Water confirmaba su fallecimiento la tarde del 28 de julio de 2012 con el siguienten mensaje: "It is with great regret and sadness that we learned of the death of our friend, the guitarist in Thee Vicars, Chris Langeland. We at Dirty Water are devastated by his death. Chris was as kind and good a person as anyone we've ever met, as well as being a brilliant young artist. He was highly regarded and much loved by many people including his family, his many friends and by fans of the band. It was an honour and a privilege to have known and worked with Chris, and we already miss him terribly".
